Gemma had the pleasure of interviewing Roshi Joan Halifax, a renowned Zen Buddhist teacher, anthropologist, author, and activist, at her Upaya Zen Center for The Paul Ekman Film Project. Gemma has admired Roshi Joan’s life and work for more than three decades, so it was a true treat to speak with her about her early years knowing Paul Ekman and to hear her perspectives on anthropology, engaged Buddhism, and the importance of cultivating compassion in our world. Gemma thanks her collaborator Kyung Lee for assisting with filming. For more info about the film visit Emotions Revealed: the life and work of Dr. Paul Ekman.
