Our Atoll Speaks premiered in Aotearoa/New Zealand on June 1st, 2019 at Wairoa Maori Film Festival within the Moana Nui Kiwa shorts film category! Gemma attended and here we share some of the beautiful moments! Thank you Leo Koziol and Louisa Tipene Opetaia for programming the film and for the wonderful experience!

Our Atoll Speak (KO TALATALA MAI TŌ MĀTOU WENUA) screens in Pukapuka! Enjoy the beautiful pictures of the event taken by Brian Opo and Kolee Tinga. Atawawolo to Pio Ravarua, the Kau Wo Wolo ( Council of Important People) and everyone in Pukapuka for making this film possible! Everyone in the atoll was included in the ending credits of the film. This is so very exciting!!

BIG SURPRISE!!

Thanks to your support in 2015 and the funding we received in 2017 from the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme, hosted by the Cook Islands Red Cross Society,  youʻll enjoy not one but two films about Pukapuka! This 14-minute forthcoming short documentary Our Atoll Speaks (KO TALATALA MAI TŌ MĀTOU WENUA) is a meditation on climate change and indigenous knowledge.  Everyone in Pukapuka/Nassau contributed to this communal film project.
